The port of Propriano
Situated in the Gulf of Valinco, in the heart of the town and bordered by magnificent beaches, Propriano's commercial port is an essential gateway for economic development and tourism. It serves the entire micro region and provides easy access to the south of the island to discover a «nature destination» par excellence. Each year, the port welcomes almost 115,000 passengers, 376 ship rotations and handles more than 89,000 tonnes of goods.
Since 1 January 2023, Corsica Linea has been operating the maritime public service delegation, with 3 connections a week throughout the year between Propriano and Marseille, supplemented in July by 2 additional stopovers a week.
In 2024, Corsica Linea will be repeating the experience, building on its success in 2023, by offering more than forty additional rotations, outside the public service contract, giving a seasonal offer of around 30,000 seats to Marseille.
The town of Propriano
Propriano experienced remarkable growth in the 19th century, mainly due to the construction of the road linking Ajaccio to Bonifacio, completed in 1873. Propriano's commercial port became Sartène's main maritime outlet, and played a major role in the economic development of the entire micro region.
A strategic port that has not only facilitated trade, but also transformed Propriano into an essential maritime hub, making a major contribution to its growth and regional importance.
